We were recently interviewed for an upcoming article at AVN Online. The reporter asked us how we got started, and stuff. He was also really interested in the fact that we're Canadian! Here's our conversation:

Q: How did you get started?

A: Well it wasn't something we ever thought we'd be doing... but once you start, it's a bit addictive really. My first thoughts (when I heard about it from the other girls that were on Girlsroom before me) were "Wow, sounds kinky!"... and I couldn't imaging doing something like that myself. But with a little coaxing from my girlfriends it didn't take long to really warm up to the camera and start to love the interaction and exhibitionism. Now we've each got a camera in our room and it seems totally natural. We all have our own regulars that come to watch and chat with us, and we enjoy it as much as they do!

Q: What's the best part of operating a site like Girlsroom.nu?

A: It's nice to do something we're totally in control of, can be ourselves, and have fun with it. It let's us express our wilder side... and it's a turn on to know people are watching too. It's also great meeting new people in the chat room from all over the world -- we really get to know some of them over time.

We also get together with other local "cam girls" from time to time. We have a great time together and get lots of pictures so the members of our sites can share the experience. Sometimes it's hard to find a bar or club that will let us do the types of "adult" activities that we like to do though. We've had members of our sites even come out to the more publicized bar-meets. It can take a little while for everyone to get comfy in person, but by the end of the night, us girls are too busy fooling around with each other to even think about that... and we've had at least a bottle of wine by then of course. ;)

Q: What is it about Canadians girls that would make them more likely to have a site like this?

A: I know there are people that imagine we live in igloos and travel by dog-sled, but in Vancouver, where we're from, that couldn't be further from the truth. We're just as technologically advanced as any major US city. In fact there are many large adult entertainment and casino operations that got their start here. But apart from technology, I think we're less conservative than many countries. And Canadians are pretty social people overall. I wouldn't say Canadians are less inhibited in general though... in fact, maybe we're too inhibited and too polite in our daily lives, and this gives us a chance to show how we really are and do whatever we want -- all uncensored for the world to see. Or perhaps it's just that the colder climate which prevents us from showing off our bodies year round also encourages us to show them off more for the "home audience"! It's really hard to say... possibly it's that we're independent, expressive, and like to share a good time. A webcam and the Internet gives you all the power you need to do that... and of course show off whatchya got and just have fun! We're hotties and we know it, and we really want to show it -- that could sum up the attitude of Canadian girls. :)

Q: What do you think people might like more about Canadian girls in particular?

A: Who doesn't love a Canadian? We're a peace-keeping, fun loving, beer drinking people! Gotta keep busy in those cold winter months, so why not have some indoor fun and turn on the webcam? We're a pretty hot bunch of people too! And if you've ever wanted a variety, we got it. There's no way to describe what a typical Canadian looks like.

Q: Is this kind of site becoming more popular?

A: Yeah, for sure... when we started back in 1997 there were only a dozen or so webcam-based sites around. Now there must be thousands. The technology is easier to come by now, and more people are able to put together the pages for their own website. Plus many, many people have webcams now -- it's catching on as a new mode of communication... and entertainment of course. Regardless of other applications though, people are still most interested in peeking in on girls like us at home. We were doing reality based entertainment far before anyone saw it on television. And ours is the type that borders on fantasy as well... definitely not for cable! It's unscripted and uncensored -- and that appeals to people on both sides of the camera. You can express yourself in any way you like, and there's always going to be someone there that's interested to see how.

Q: Where are most of the website visitors from?

A: We get visitors from pretty much every area of the globe. Of those we notice most, a lot are Canadian visitors, but there's a surprising number of people from Europe, and quite a few from Texas for some reason. It's pretty cool to wake up in the morning, knowing there's some guy on the other side of the world waiting to see your naked body. Often they've just come home from work in the UK and that's their way of unwinding.

I don't know if people like our site because it comes from Canada -- or if most of them even realize that we're not American! I guess if we start chatting about hockey it kinda gives us away though, eh?
